Villamena Assisi · Umbria, Italy
September 3 – 6, 2027 · Labor Day Weekend
We’ve always loved chasing new places, new experiences, and the feeling of being somewhere beautiful with the people we love most — which is exactly why getting everyone together in Italy feels so special to us.
Asking you to fly across the world? We know, we're capitalizing on this moment hard... but just think.... a few days in the Umbrian hills, with our favorite people. Cinematic! How could we resist!
If there are three things we love, it's being around our favorite people, new experiences that create special memories, and good food! We want this weekend to feel like a few days away where everyone is enjoying good food and good views with some great people.
Settle in, pour a glass of wine, and ease into the weekend with us. Friday night is all about taking in the first golden view of the Umbrian hills — and celebrate finally being here together over some fresh italian pasta.
The main event :) We’ll gather for the ceremony as the light turns golden over the hills, then celebrate into the evening with dinner, music, and dancing. Epic pics will be taken!
Fun's not over yet - we came all the way to Italy for heavens sake! Spend the afternoon by the pool with pizza, sun, music, and nowhere to be — then we’ll regroup in the evening for a relaxed barbecue under the Umbrian sky. Oh, and now, we ASK that guests wear white (this time, we’ll be in color :))
A slow morning and departures home. We hope you leave a little sun-soaked, slightly tired, and very glad you came.
A visual guide for each event — less of a strict dress code, more of a shared direction for the weekend. The goal is effortless, chic, and cohesive in a way that makes the weekend feel cinematic.
Relaxed Italian welcome dinner energy: earthy neutrals, soft prints, olive, rust, tan, linen, and easy silhouettes. The vibe is celebratory, warm, and inspired by the natural beauty surrounding us.
Think neutral: olive, caramel, tan, rust, sage, clay, taupe, soft prints, linen shirts, light trousers, loafers, sandals, and block heels.

We’re going to Italy — let’s go all out. Think bright, bold color, elevated silhouettes, black tie, and a chance to dress up.
Outdoor ceremony and stone floors mean wedges, block heels, flats, or handsome shoes you can actually walk in.

The wedding’s over — Jamie can no longer claim the color white from everyone 🙂
Easy, sunny, and comfortable. This is the day for white and tan: swimsuits, cover-ups, linen sets, shorts, tees, sandals, hats, and whatever feels good after a big wedding night.
Think post-wedding pool day, not a formal outfit board: linen, swimwear, loose shirts, breezy coverups, sandals, sunglasses, and anything comfortable enough for pizza, sun, and a slow day outside.
If there are three things we love, it's being around our favorite people, new experiences that create special memories, and good food! We want this weekend to feel like a few days away where everyone is enjoying good food and good views with some great people.
Perugia (PEG) is the closest airport, around 30 minutes from Villamena, though routes are more limited.
Rome Fiumicino (FCO) is typically the easiest choice for international guests, with the most direct flight options.
Florence (FLR) is also a beautiful option if you want to build in extra Italy time.
Italy’s rail network is excellent. The Assisi train station sits below the hill town, with a short taxi ride up to Villamena. Trains run from Rome, Florence, and Perugia, making train travel a very easy option.
Trenitalia →Villamena is located just outside Assisi, about 4 km from town. Rental cars are great if you want to explore Umbria, but guests staying close to the wedding events will also be able to rely on taxis and shared transfers.
Should I rent a car? →
Arrive Friday, September 3 in time for the Welcome Party that evening. Getting in earlier in the day is ideal so you can settle in before dinner.
Depart Monday, September 6 after a slow final morning in Assisi.
We plan to coordinate shared transfers between Assisi station and Villamena at key arrival and departure times. Full details will be shared closer to the weekend.
Note travel plans in RSVP →Assisi is a hill town, so expect cobblestones, stairs, and a little walking. Pack shoes you can actually move in, and give yourself a bit of grace on travel day — it will be worth it.
While we will have close family staying with us at Villamena, we have also rented out two farmhouses that are only a walking distance away. The reviews are overwhelmingly positive, however they are definitely more rustic than some of the modern hotel & Airbnb offerings 5–10 minutes away in Assisi, so we will not be offended if you choose to book your own accommodations there instead!
We've linked to both farmhouse websites below so you can take a look before deciding.
A private medieval estate set into the Umbrian hillside, with stone buildings, olive groves, and views that make you want to stay outside all evening. Close family will be staying on-site for the weekend.
villamena.com →For anyone arriving early or extending the trip, Assisi and the surrounding region are full of hill towns, wine country, historic sites, and countryside views. This section is for things to explore off-site — we'll plan the wedding-weekend activities at Villamena ourselves.
Destination weddings come with a few more logistics than usual, so we’ve gathered the essentials here.
Yes! Yes we are, but if you're invited, you should already know that!
For most international guests, Rome Fiumicino (FCO) will be the easiest option with the most flight availability. Perugia (PEG) is closest if you find a good connection, and Florence (FLR) is also a lovely option if you want to spend extra time in Tuscany before or after the wedding.
Both Rome and Florence have direct train service to Assisi, so flying into either is an easy way to reach the wedding by rail.
If you want to explore Umbria beyond the wedding weekend, yes. If you’re planning to stay mostly at Villamena and in Assisi, you can absolutely manage without one and use train + taxi + shared transfers instead.
No — Villamena has limited on-site space, so close family will be staying there. We have also rented two nearby farmhouses, Agriturismo SoleLuna and Nizzi, within walking distance. Assisi is only about 5–10 minutes away and has plenty of great hotel and Airbnb options, so you are very welcome to book your own accommodation there if that feels like a better fit.
Please tell us by March 1, 2027 if you would like to be considered for a farmhouse room or if you plan to find your own accommodation.
Please use the style guide above. In short: Friday is elevated garden with earthy neutrals, Saturday is La Dolce Vita formal, and Sunday is a white pool party by day with relaxed evening attire for the barbecue at night.
Cobblestones and outdoor terraces are very much part of the setting, so block heels, wedges, flats, sandals, and dress shoes you can truly walk in are highly encouraged.
We expect to coordinate shared transportation at key arrival and departure times, especially between Assisi station and Villamena. Full details will come closer to the weekend.
Early September in Umbria is typically warm, sunny, and ideal for outdoor events, with hot afternoons and more comfortable evenings. Bring sunscreen for the pool day and a light layer for after sunset.
Please RSVP by May 1, 2027. Final details and logistics depend on guest counts, so timely replies are deeply appreciated.
Please respond by May 1, 2027. We can’t wait to celebrate with you in Assisi.

More details will keep coming as we get closer — for now, start dreaming about pasta, wine, and a few days in the Umbrian hills.
